TVS IWA Wrestling on TVS Select TV Network Adds Two Dozen More Classic Matches From the 1975 TV Series

 In 1975 TVS Television Network introduced their own pro wrestling circuit, IWA Championship Wrestling. It was the first national wrestling treatment of the modern TV era. In the 1940's and 1950's, pro wrestling was carried on the Dumont and Paramount Networks (both folded in the mid 1950's), and there was no network wrestling until TVS pickled up the mantle in 1975.

TVS IWA Wrestling attracted the top stars of the day, including Ernie Ladd, Bulldog Brower, Ox Baker, The Mighty Igor, Cowboy Bob Ellis, Tex McKenzie, Mil Mascaras, and others. The matches were seen on the TVS Television Network by over 80% of the country.

Today the matches can still be seen on the TVS Select Network, a 24/7 streaming FAST channel on the WatchYour.TV platform, powered by Tulix. The channel has just added 24 more TVS IWA matches from 1975.

TVS Classic Sports Networks Completes 50 Years of Telecasting in 2024 on WatchYour.TV, Looks Forward to Another 50 Years!!

 TVS Television Network first started in 1974 when it supplied an All Sports/All Day format to cable television stations across the USA. It was the nation's first cable TV network. Delivered by video tape, the channel offered ten hours of sports daily and was often the first national program origination by cable systems. In 1976, the channel transmitted the first live national commercial cablecast in association with the Young and Rubican Advertising Agency.

In 1987, All Sports/All Day acquired the TVS Television Network and converted that entity into the TVS Classic Sports Network. The network ran on cable systems as well as broadcast syndication until it became a seminal internet service, eventually becoming the first streaming internet channel.

Championship Bowling was the pioneer bowling show that was seen in many a tavern in the early 1950's as well as Roller Derby, an early TV sports staple.

Midnight Refrain Film Noir TV Network Boston Blackie , TVS Wrestling Network Both Feature Actor Dick Lane on WatchYour.TV Platform

In the 1940's, actor Dick Lane was a glutton for work and a versatile performer. Never a star, he came up with a unique plan where he would contract himself  to movie studios for ten days of work as a character actor, bit player, or even for '2 Reeler' shorts. The result was a wide array of small parts such as Inspector Farraday in the Chester Morris Boston Blackie movies, or as the co-star in the Schilling and Lane series that for a time rivaled the 3 Stooges on the Columbia lot. The result was a hefty income and a steady workload.

Then, in 1948, Dick Lane joined other local Los Angeles actors (including a young Steve Allen) in getting 'day work' by announcing the wrestling programs from Hollywood. While the others looked at it as a fast buck, Dick Lane saw it has his 'next chapter' in his career. For the next two decades he became the signature voice of not only pro wrestling, but of the Roller Derby!
