In the show The Mighty Gonzales tears a license plate in half, then he tears a thick phone book in half, then he has a guy sledgehammer a cider block over his chest, then the guy sledgehammers a cinder block over his genitals, then he bends an iron bar with his teeth, then he bends an iron bar over his head, and then he has the guy drop a bowling ball on his head not once - not twice- but THREE times in a row!

TVS Select Network Showcases Legendary Actor Turned Sportscaster Dick Lane on Hollywood Wrestling TV Show

 Dick Lane was a highly popular - and versatile - actor in Hollywood in the 1940's . He appeared  hundreds of times as a staccato talking cop - or criminal-  His most notable recurring role was as Inspector Farraday in the Boston Blackie movies from Columbia Pictures. While at Columbia he also starred in a series of successful comedy two reelers as Schilling and Lane. Although lost in history Schilling and Lane were second only to The Three Stooges in popularity in the Columbia series..

After moving yo Paramount, Dick Lane found an opening in the news department of the start up Paramount experimental TV station, again using his rapid fire speech pattern to deliver the news.  Paramount then started covering pro wrestling in Hollywood and Dick Lane had a new career. He became the voice of Wrestling From Hollywood show and a national TV star.
