When AMF gained notoriety with Championship Bowling from Chicago in the 1950's, Brunswick Bowling countered with Top Star Bowling from r. Louis with a young Jack Buck doing the announcing. Both series were well received across the USA and helped to give rise to the PBA and the rise of bowling to the most popular participation sport in the USA.
