Dick Lane was a highly popular - and versatile - actor in Hollywood in the 1940's . He appeared hundreds of times as a staccato talking cop - or criminal- His most notable recurring role was as Inspector Farraday in the Boston Blackie movies from Columbia Pictures. While at Columbia he also starred in a series of successful comedy two reelers as Schilling and Lane. After moving yo Paramount, Dick Lane found an opening in the news department of the start up Paramount experimental TV station, again using his rapid fire speech pattern to deliver the news. Paramount then started covering pro wrestling in Hollywood and Dick Lane had a new career. He became the voice of Wrestling From Hollywood show and a national TV star.
