In 1994, when the TVS Television Network first acquired the Tavern TV Network, we did not have an area tavern that was offering the channel to its patrons. We were excited to see the channel 'in action' and called a local tavern and offered to take a full table all night if they would put just one of their TVs on Tavern TV so we could watch it. They agreed.
When we got there, the tavern had 15 of their 16 monitors on Sunday Night Baseball, and one on Tavern TV Network. What happened next was amazing.... one by one, customers saw what we were watching (Alcindor vs. Hayes basketball, Rocky Graziano boxing, Bo Jackson in the Senior Bowl, Richard Petty winning his 200th race) and asked the management to switch their TVs as well. In a matter of an hour or so, 12 TVs were watching Tavern TV and 4 were watching Sunday Night Baseball.
Thirty years later, we're still making sports fans happy!
